The super-rich in America typically migrate toward each other in certain residential areas around the country. According to an article released last week by Yahoo! Finance via a report conducted by Coldwell Banker Previews International, Beverly Hills, California ranked #1 as a city in which the wealthy tend to dwell, but I would argue that New York City has them beat. Residential construction on some of these multi-million dollar homes probably costs more than most commercial buildings. Upon taking a closer look at the top 20 neighborhoods for the wealthiest Americans, some interesting info was gathered about the lifestyles of the rich.

#1 BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA (90210): Beverly Hills had the sale of 18 homes go for over $10 million. The nine-bedroom mansion featured here went for $32 million.

Expensive Apartments in New York City

#2 NEW YORK, NEW YORK (10023): New York City’s Lincoln Square neighborhood on the Upper West Side had 17 homes sell for over $10 million. A seven-bedroom condo in the apartment building shown here listed for $12 million.

#3 (tie) NEW YORK, NEW YORK (10021): On the other side of NYC sits the Upper East Side neighborhood from 69th Street to 76th Street with 16 homes selling for $10 million or more. The condo shown here went for $8.95 million.

#3 (tie) ASPEN, COLORADO (81611): Aspen is known as the favorite ski town for the wealthy and had 16 homes sell for over $10 million. A seven-bedroom residence in Aspen was listed for $39.75 million.

#4. Bel Air, California (90077): The home of the Fresh Prince, Bel Air’s community on the Westside of Los Angelos had 12 homes sell for over $10 million. This 10-bedroom mansion in LA drew a cool $75 million.

#5. Miami Beach, Florida (33139): South Miami Beach is one of the most bustling nightlife areas in the country and had 11 homes sell for over $10 million. The 11-bedroom home featured here went for $35 million.
